Day 10 Game 10: 30 games in 30 days using Grids for GameMaker

CLICK HERE TO PLAY GAME 10

This is what Grids did for us today. What can Grids do for you?

Developer: Munyaradzi Zinatsa (Microsoft AppFactory)

Game 10 is a simple memory game on a rect grid. Find the cheeses or die trying!

The game is quite straight forward. The player is able to view the board at the beginning of the game. There are 12 cheeses which they need to uncover while avoiding the mouse traps.

With large boards the game was too difficult but small boards were also too easy and not much fun. We did two things to make the difficulty easier on a larger board. First, we briefly show the player the board again after they reach 6 cheeses. Second, we placed the cheeses in reflective patterns.

The background, trap, cheese and mouse for this game were made by BugBox.
