[slogan]This is what Grids did for us today. What can Grids do for you?[/slogan]

Today’s game is a remake of the classic game Xonix. The aim of the game is to fill the playing field by running over it (the playing field is selected randomly). At the same time you need to avoid the enemies from catching you or letting them crash into your path.

The game’s implementation is very simple, the most “difficult” part is doing the movement of the players. This is one aspect we want to look into; a consistent problem is smooth transitions from different grid states – in this case, movement between cells, but other situations also arise: filling a grid; building a grid, moving cells around in a grid… Ideally, we’d like there to be a uniform way to handle these cases. One more problem for us to tackle after our 30 days project!
