Day 21 Game 21: 30 games in 30 days using Grids

This is what Grids did for us today. What can Grids do for you?

Today’s game is another 3D game; this time on a hex grid. The aim of the game is to get to the outer ring; however, paths randomly become walls along the way.

We use a customized map to adjust the height of the pieces according to their distance from the origin. We also use the special “color” functions to make sure the maze has certain structural properties. The color functions assign numbers according to special patterns. This is useful in many algorithms. Here we use it to create regular walls and pathways (this fact is obscured by the fact that pathways randomly become walls!)
