Game 9 (African Savannah) is a simulation played on an isometric grid, crudely based on Sim Life. The goal is to build a stable ecosystem; finding the right balance between zebras and lions. Lions eat zebras; if they get too hungry, they die. If they are not hungry, they walk around aimlessly. Zebras eat grass; they too die if they get too hungry. If they are not hungry, they walk around (otherwise, they stay put and eat the grass). Both zebras and lions die if they cannot move when they want to – an extreme form of overpopulation!

Simulations take a long time to tweak, and ours is unfortunately rather stable without the player having to do too much…

The actual underlying grid is a diamond grid – there are two other grids that are visually isometric.
